They’ve got us trained quite well:
- Boil some water (to store in flasks)
- Plug in your chargeables
- Find a fan to sit in front of/under
- Run through your mind (quickly) of anything you’ve been waiting for electricity to help you do
Iron a shirt, maybe?
It’s some nonsense over here: Nigeria, ‘The Giant of Africa’ in terms of natural resources and skilled industry, supplies electricity to other African nations, most notably Ghana, who just celebrated 10 years of uninterrupted service - WE supply THEM . . . and we’ve had a total of 5 hours of electricity (generously estimating) in the past 72 hours.
“Start a revolution!” (what Blue tells me)
Uh . . .
(hahaha)
. . .
OK, how?
. . .
and there goes the light again . . .
. . . here come the generators . . .

i'm at work reading this, laughing my ass off. which is much needed, consdiering how cruddy my job (and the economy) is. oh i remember my 30 days in nigeria so well. i would GLADLY take another 30, albeit i need a pet sitter for kona, and i'm not all together convinced he would ever forgive me for leaving him for a month, i have SEVERAL large books that need to be read, because lets' face it, there are too many distractions here for me to ever really getting around to reading them. and this weather, currently it is 40 degrees, sunless, and a distinct cold humidity that chills to the bone. it is eerily quiet in my office, there are people here, but there is no noise, aside from the sad droning of an occaisional keyboard stroke. oh i need another 30 days of outright choas and noise, heat and humidity, all things to distract me from what's really bothering me. but i digress...i'll try my best to keep up with the blog everyday. it's good for my soul
